I had serious bicycle accident in July and haven’t done a blog post since. It feels great to get back into photography! I took this shot of my office and then looked at this week’s photo challenge. Thought it fit the bill well. In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. Hebrews 1:10 (NIV)

Doors in Colorado Springs
I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9
If you are ever in Colorado Springs, make sure you visit The Broadmoor. Built at the turn of the century, it drips with elegance, luxury, and grandeur. If you can’t afford to stay, have dinner or drinks in one of the restaurants overlooking the lake and be swept away by the romance of an era gone by. Some of the lovely doors captured during our recent trip are perfect for the “Door” challenge.
I also included the iron door of the Rockledge Bed and Breakfast in nearby Manitou Springs. Built in the late 1800’s, it is a romantic combination of breathtaking Colorado beauty and Italian charm. We were greeted with wine and cheese, were treated to a delicious breakfast on the patio overlooking Pikes Peak and had fantastic, romantic getaway weekend!
Flowers On The Way
On the way around Green Lake, Wisconsin on our bikes we ran across this field of wild beauties. Is there any more delightful surprise? Happy summer!
Flowers are the sweetest things God ever made, and forgot to put a soul into.

Intricate Saloon
The intricate interior of the fantasticly fun Bucksnort Saloon in Sphinx Park, Colorado. Built in the late 1800’s this building was originally a mercantile store that served the men of the Denver and South Park railroad. Bring a dollar or your business card and leave a legacy!
How great are your works, O Lord!
Your plans are very intricate!

Vail In A Blur
Vail, Colorado as we sped past on Interstate 70, which crosses the Rocky Mountains.
Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely,
just as God now knows me completely.

Ephemeral Kiss
Leo and Bonkers in a fleeting kitty kiss as they enjoy our early Colorado Spring breezes.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth— for your love is more delightful than wine. Song of Songs 1-2

Orange You Glad
I used to hate orange. It was so garish and loud and…crass. It looked like it was trying too hard to be cute and failing miserably, like an older woman with too much makeup and tight clothes. (Please, God, don’t ever let me look like that I wanted orange to take on some blue and chill out a bit already.
But something changed last year and now I see orange’s beauty. She is still screamy loud but now I see her joy. She’s just happy as hell and a tad different than everyone else, but she doesn’t care. She’s living it up and if you don’t come along, that’s your loss. I like her, the little racy rebel. I may do a couple of posts in her honor.

Symmetric Resort
The lovely West Baden Resort in French Lick, Indiana is full of symmetric beauty for this week’s challenge.

Train Scale
Taken at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado. The small locomotive is an N scale FT, 160th of the real size. The F9 behind it is, of course, the real deal. The first Guest Artist post on my blog from my fiancé, Craig, for the Scale photo challenge.
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

Mountain Scale
The view from my office always amazes me. The Rocky Mountains at the far end of this photo are 14,000 feet high. That is massive, but they look small at a distance and compared to the enormous Colorado sky. For the Scale photo challenge. (Thanks to my latest follower, Susan, for noticing that I hadn’t posted for a while and inspiring me to get moving again! 🙂
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains, your justice like the great deep.
