Colorado Office Grid

I had serious bicycle accident in July and haven’t done a blog post since. It feels great to get back into photography! I took this shot of my office and then looked at this week’s photo challenge. Thought it fit the bill well.  In the beginning, Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. Hebrews 1:10 (NIV)

Doors in Colorado Springs

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John 10:9

If you are ever in Colorado Springs, make sure you visit The Broadmoor. Built at the turn of the century, it drips with elegance, luxury, and grandeur. If you can’t afford to stay, have dinner or drinks in one of the restaurants overlooking the lake and be swept away by the romance of an era gone by. Some of the lovely doors captured during our recent trip are perfect for the “Door” challenge.

I also included the iron door of the Rockledge Bed and Breakfast in nearby Manitou Springs. Built in the late 1800’s, it is a romantic combination of breathtaking Colorado beauty and Italian charm. We were greeted with wine and cheese, were treated to a delicious breakfast on the patio overlooking Pikes Peak and had fantastic, romantic getaway weekend!

Vail In A Blur

Vail, Colorado as we sped past on Interstate 70, which crosses the Rocky Mountains.

Vail

Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely,
just as God now knows me completely.
1st Corinthians 13:12 (NLT)

Orange You Glad

I used to hate orange. It was so garish and loud and…crass. It looked like it was trying too hard to be cute and failing miserably, like an older woman with too much makeup and tight clothes. (Please, God, don’t ever let me look like that :/ I wanted orange to take on some blue and chill out a bit already.

But something changed last year and now I see orange’s beauty. She is still screamy loud but now I see her joy. She’s just happy as hell and a tad different than everyone else, but she doesn’t care. She’s living it up and if you don’t come along, that’s your loss. I like her, the little racy rebel. I may do a couple of posts in her honor.

Valentine Poem

EngagedYou are the…

Song for my verse
Pet for my cat
Wheels for my trip
Train for my track

Clean for my mess
Star for my play
Feet for my dance
Sun for my gray

Race for my car
Ball for my game
Boat for my sail
Last for my name

Brand for my cards
Laugh for my tears
Go for my slow
Balm for my fears

Kiss for my lips
Joy for my heart
Have for my hold
Till death do us part
